S/Court Ruling: APC Now Invalid, Carries Burden of “Let Buyer Beware” -PDP

July 30, 2021 Press Conference : The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alerts Nigerians and the international community that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has become technically invalidated and now lacks the statutory structure to operate as a political party in our country.  This is given the pronouncement of the Supreme Court which clearly pointed to the nullity of APC’s subsistence and activities as a political party, for having a sitting governor, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state, as its Chairman, in total violation of section 183 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) as well as the provisions of Article 17(4) of the APC constitution. A further interpretation of the pronouncement of the Supreme Court showed that all activities of the APC under Mai Mala Buni, including nomination of candidates for elections, agreements, official decision reached, establishment of committees for statutory activities as well as its planned ward, local government and states congresse

Protest Rocks Ibadan Over Sunday Igboho’s Detention In Benin Republic

Oba Of Benin, Obaseki Clash Over 1,130 Stolen Artefacts To Be Returned From Germany

Lindaikejisblog Jul 10, 2021 8:17 AM The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has kicked against the decision of the Edo state government to take custody of the 1,130 stolen Benin artefacts that are in the process of being repatriated from Germany.  The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and the other top government officials  are currently in Germany  to facilitate the return of the stolen artefacts that were allegedly looted during the invasion of the Benin Kingdom in 1897 by the British led by Captain Philip. While the palace wants the artefacts kept in the Benin Royal Museum which will be built within the palace, the state government wants the items preserved in the proposed Edo Museum of West African Arts which would be funded and executed by a private company named Legacy Restoration Trust Ltd.
