The Edo Production Centre is a multipurpose, one-stop-shop for small businesses. The centre shares support
infrastructure such as 24 hours electricity, security and low-cost financing to help boost economic growth in the
state. The centre was built and established by Edo State Government in partnership with the Market Development for the Niger Delta (MADE) I programme, Benson Idahosa University (BIU) and the Des Moines Area Community College in lowa, the United States of America.

The 24-hour electricity supply at the Centre is provided by the Ossiomo Power Plant following a power purchase
agreement with Edo State Government.

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, at the weekend, said he has no plan of defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging anyone who is uncomfortable with his leadership of the party to leave. Oba Of Benin, Obaseki Clash Over 1,130 Stolen Artefacts To Be Returned From Germany

Jul 10, 2021 8:17 AM The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has kicked against the decision of the Edo state government to take custody of the 1,130 stolen Benin artefacts that are in the process of being repatriated from Germany.    The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and the other top government officials are currently in Germany to facilitate the return of the stolen artefacts that were allegedly looted during the invasion of the Benin Kingdom in 1897 by the British led by Captain Philip. While the palace wants the artefacts kept in the Benin Royal Museum which will be built within the palace, the state government wants the items preserved in the proposed Edo Museum of West African Arts which would be funded and executed by a private company named Legacy Restoration Trust Ltd.
