EDO2024: No retreat no surrender for POI, ahead APC primaries.


 It's not over until he wins. That is POI's promise to his people. Speaking  yesterday at the APC secretariat where the political demagogue declared his intention to contest the 2024 guber polls, the 6 footerplus insinuated emotionally that he won the last election but only God gives power and pacified him because vengeance is the Lord's. 
Vituperating further,  he opined that since he staked his all the last time, to give APC a voice and a dignity; being alive, well, hale and hearty, more experienced,  more sagacious  and more focused than ever before, it's only wise and expedient that the party willingly grants his request to run again. And all the party stalwarts and officials could not agree less in order not to incur the wrath of the mass of party faithfuls that span from the inside of the  APC secretariat to more than a quarter mile along the airport road in Benin city. 
From this reporter's observation and perception,  the APC primary was done yesterday because I haven't seen the kind of solidarity and carnival sort of event that I witnessed yesterday, and will remain in my memory for a long time so much so that even tear gas was allegedly used to disperse people who refused to vacate the venue of the reception at the end of the unopposed primary,  sorry,  declaration of interest.
 I will therefore sue that pastor osagie izevbizua iyamu should be magnanimous in victory to carry other aspirants along the onerous journey.

Oba Of Benin, Obaseki Clash Over 1,130 Stolen Artefacts To Be Returned From Germany

Jul 10, 2021 8:17 AM The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has kicked against the decision of the Edo state government to take custody of the 1,130 stolen Benin artefacts that are in the process of being repatriated from Germany.    The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and the other top government officials are currently in Germany to facilitate the return of the stolen artefacts that were allegedly looted during the invasion of the Benin Kingdom in 1897 by the British led by Captain Philip. While the palace wants the artefacts kept in the Benin Royal Museum which will be built within the palace, the state government wants the items preserved in the proposed Edo Museum of West African Arts which would be funded and executed by a private company named Legacy Restoration Trust Ltd.
