EDO2024: No retreat no surrender for POI, ahead APC primaries.

Image
It's not over until he wins. That is POI's promise to his people. Speaking  yesterday at the APC secretariat where the political demagogue declared his intention to contest the 2024 guber polls, the 6 footerplus insinuated emotionally that he won the last election but only God gives power and pacified him because vengeance is the Lord's.  Vituperating further,  he opined that since he staked his all the last time, to give APC a voice and a dignity; being alive, well, hale and hearty, more experienced,  more sagacious  and more focused than ever before, it's only wise and expedient that the party willingly grants his request to run again. And all the party stalwarts and officials could not agree less in order not to incur the wrath of the mass of party faithfuls that span from the inside of the  APC secretariat to more than a quarter mile along the airport road in Benin city.  From this reporter's ob...

CAN APC STAND OBASEKI'S PDP TRICYCLE, LABOUR PARTY’S EXUBERANCE,? Part 2

Image
APC: Among the contestants in the party heat before the real finals are a cacophony of aspirants that I can't really decipher or reckon  with.  But one name stands out among the  somewhat star studed 100 meters dash race to destination Osadebey Avenue come 2024. Various parameters are considered when it comes to choosing a flag bearer of a political party.  Blemish is one cancerworm to be avoided for obvious reasons.  The aspirant who must emerge as candidates must be without blemish and must not be having jet lag from previous flights. This is where Agbonayinma Johnson comes readily to the fore. Does anybody has anything against Johnson, the emphatic answer is capital NO. In short Agbonayinma looks like a man who saw tomorrow. He lived his political life honourably representing his constituents at the national assembly  like never before, as if that was the only life he would live. He moved motions, pursued its implementation,  achieved constituency p...

Can APC stand the antics of Obaseki's PDP tricycle, Labour Party’s exuberance? part 1

Image
Can APC stand the antics of Obaseki and his PDP tricycle  as well as the youthful exuberance of the Labour Party’s  billionaire infested aspirants? Time and the calibre of their eventual candidates will tell. For APC,  if they will make a statement and latch on the might of the Tinubu presidency, to help them politically  wrestle power which they carelessly threw away, a personage of messianic stature must be traded.  APC must put her rightful leg forward devoid of sentiments and and grandstanding. This not the time to play the ostrich or the bull game.  It doesn't work in Edo state: A state that is politically aware to a sagacious level where couples and/or children have their individual electoral loyalties. Let us look at the frontrunner in the APC 100 meters dash: watch out for part 2

TRUE LEADERSHIP AND ITS WIT-

Image
I would like to share a story with you, the Edo State electorate, as you consider the nomination of a flag-bearer for our great Labor Party and the next Governor of Edo state, God willing. Whom would you prefer to lead you? Whom do you trust? Someone who knows how to make things work in an environment where things do not typically work, or a person who comes with plenty degrees but lacks insight and vision, and cannot turn open a doorknob or the tap head. Literally?! My childhood friend Paul, whom I consider a brother, attended all the prestigious schools in Nigeria and overseas (primary, secondary, and tertiary education).  To crown his educational achievements, he holds a doctorate degree (Phd). He visited me at home this past month.  To my surprise, Paul could not twist open the doorknob to my house. Even after I repeatedly showed him how to use the lock. Technically challenged?  For fear of locking himself outside the house in my absence, he remained indoo...

Central govt growing weaker, must renegotiate with states for solutions to current economic woes - Obaseki

Image
The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said that with the prevailing economic challenges, the Federal Government, which is growing weaker, must renegotiate with States for solutions to current economic challenges. The governor said this when he received 21 first-class graduates who were recently employed into the civil and public service in the State, at the Government House in Benin City, the State capital. Speaking to the new workers, the governor said: “The central government is becoming weaker as it doesn't have the resources to undertake the responsibility it ought to take according to the constitution and this will lead to a renegotiation. The system is not sustainable but yet I don’t see Nigeria disintegrating.” Obaseki continued: “We need to invite young people to deal with the situation and set the nation on the right path, threading on the path that aligns with global development. We have set ourselves as a State on the path of development. We have em...
